As this is self- explanatory, at a certain age, you may want to avoid the noisy city center for the country side which is more quiet and serene environment with fresh breath of nature.

Your income decide where you can live and where you can’t. Income gives you that freedom of choice as to which location is best suit you. For most people, for the most part “location choose them” rather than “they choosing the location.” The deeper your wallet is the better options, it is counterintuitive, isn’t it?

Do you prefer public transport or your own ride? What kind of lifestyle fits you most? Depending on your lifestyle as an expat or even a local, for example the kind of social amenities you can’t live without which can be found in the city, or if you are nature person, living in the suburbs is no brainer. Now let’s dive deeper:

I love nature. Suburban areas often boast lush greenery, hills, and natural landscapes, providing a serene environment for those who enjoy nature. Notable natural attractions include:

Aburi Botanical Gardens: Located in Aburi, these gardens are a serene oasis of rare and exotic plants, perfect for a leisurely stroll.

3. Community Feel

Suburban living offers a sense of community and a quieter lifestyle, which can be appealing for families or individuals seeking a peaceful environment. Here’s what you can expect:

Tight-Knit Communities: Ghanaians love a community. Suburban neighborhoods often have close-knit communities where neighbors know each other, fostering a sense of belonging.

Less Noise and Pollution: Compared to the city center’s hustle and bustle, suburbs tend to be quieter and have less air pollution.

4. Upcoming Developments

Some suburbs in Accra, such as Appollonia satellite City, Kwabenya, Oyarifa,  Prampram, Pokuasi and others, are experiencing rapid development. This growth brings several long term benefits:

Investment Opportunities: Buying property in a fast-growing suburb can be a wise investment as property values tend to appreciate over time.
